Theta Xi - Digital Archives
The Unicorn, official publication of Theta Xi Fraternity, is published under the direction of the Grand Lodge of Theta Xi. The official magazine of the Fraternity has been published since 1892. The Unicorn of Theta Xi, originally called The Theta Xi Quarterly, was first published by Charles W. Hoyt, Beta 166, in New Haven, CT. A featured element of the Theta Xi experience, all members who pay lifetime dues receive digital copies of the Unicorn 3 times per year, and one printed copy per year, that includes the Foundation Annual Report and feature stories.
The Unicorn contains news on individual chapters; special alumni; Fraternity and Interfraternity events, Foundation insights, leadership features, partnership and industry updates, chapter news, alumni contributions and Fraternity obituaries. Today, the Fraternity remains committed to publishing The Unicorn. It is published within a digital, interactive format three times per year, with a printed and mailed copy published one quarter a year.
The Theta Xi Quarterly was the original name of the Unicorn. Named for the frequency of transmission, it reflects a popular name for fraternity magazines who were similar in size and nature of content. The name of the magazine was changed from The Theta Xi Quarterly to The Unicorn of Theta Xi in 1928.
